SKY BLUE STUDIOS TOUR, INNOVATE FUNDING AND BTS HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES.
INNOVATE FUNDING PROJECT IS UNDERWAY
As recently announced in our August News, that in June 2021 we were successful in securing funding through Innovate UK, to help us get an exciting idea off the ground.
We made a start on the project earlier in the year, and we managed to create a working prototype. However with limited resources, we had to put it on the back burner over the very busy months to follow.
We have devised a unique tool with huge potential, and this funding will allow us to streamline it further, test and showcase the capabilities in the form of children's content. We are going to create a separate blog following our progress and some behind the scenes action, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this if you want to follow the development. Check out our August News to learn more about the tool we have devised, and how it can be used.
SKY BLUE STUDIOS - IKEA BUILDING TO PRODUCTION STUDIO
We were delighted to get an invite to the open event at Sky Blue Studios in Coventry. During the event we were given a guided tour of the incredible 6 floor production space and it was fantastic to hear the exciting plans Mark and Louise have for the space.
“Sky Blue Studios is an innovative and sustainability-first media and studio facility in Coventry, West Midlands focused on the film, TV and immersive media production sector. WHAT WE ARE UP TO
With another Netflix previs project wrapped in October, we are now on our final 4 projects of the year. Our internal Innovation project is full steam ahead, postvis for an Amazon Studios Original, our final few weeks of post on our biggest job of the year (Netflix feature 2022) and previs for an upcoming TV series.
ASHAB MARTIN (CUB)
Ashab Martin came to visit us in the studio late October to tell us about his plans for "CUB". It was great to hear about Ashab's ideas to help transition students into the industry and we look forward to collaborating in the near future.
Ashab - "I’m a principal concept artist working in film, TV and video games. I’ve been fortunate to work in many parts of our lovely planet and now find myself teaching at BCU. As a response to the needs of students I’ve set up CUB which is a creative space to share, develop and ‘get darn good’. In the discord channel (Link to follow) you’ll find like minded people wanting to learn and create everything from concept art, pre-vis, production art and animation. There is one rule to this community and it’s share what you learn and allow others to develop. We will soon be launching a YouTube channel to give people the chance to show case their work and share what they have learned."
