JAE SOLINA : THE MASTER OF YOUTUBE TUTORIALS AND FILMMAKING MAGIC
On this week's episode of The VFX Process, we had the pleasure of speaking with Jae Solina, better known for his incredible YouTube content as JSFILMZ. Jae is a successful content creator whose YouTube channel is a library of troubleshooting tutorials, sprinkled with creative short films. From a young age, Jae has had a love for movie making. This burning passion led him to discover movie making in Unreal Engine, which he then realized was too good to not pursue as a career. As a result, he made the decision to leave the military after 13 years.
We delved further into the process behind Jae's short film 'Cyberpunk 2077', made in Unreal Engine, and explored how he managed to utilize just one Mocap suit and a very small crew. Taking inspiration from filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, Jae firmly believes that storytelling is the cornerstone of any exceptional film creation. Our conversation also touched upon the use of software tools such as Facegood, Blender, and Maya, while also discussing the comparison between Path Tracing and Lumen (HWRT).
Jae's admirable attitude and positive mindset towards self-belief left us feeling incredibly motivated, and we are confident that it will have the same effect on you.
