GAMES, EPIC GAMES AND UNREAL GAMES!
EGX LONDON
This month we attended EGX, one of the country's biggest gaming conventions held at Excel London. We had the chance to play some of the best upcoming games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Sonic Frontiers, Street Fighter 6, Splatoon 3 and Goat Simulator 3. Alongside these big named pre-releases, were a vast range of indie game demos, a few of our favourites were:
Moviehouse, a movie business management simulator.
Change, an eye opening homeless survival experience.
Broken Edge, a VR sword duelling game.
AN EPIC STUDIO TOUR
During our visit to London, friend of Bigtooth Miran Dilberovic invited us to the Epic Games Innovation Lab, to see their set up. It was Unreal (sorry!). As the home of Unreal Engine we were blown away by their small production stage with LED wall, where digital scenes can be displayed and altered live, whilst being captured in camera. We also got the chance to experience the world of Matrix Awakens and Fall Guys on the big screen!
RETURN TO EPIC!
Jamie Bakewell returned to the Innovation Lab a few days later, for an Unreal Engine Meetup. The evening event is a meeting-place for users of Unreal Engine, to meet, learn, and show-off their projects. There were talks, discussions and a chance to meet with fellow users and other industry professionals.
MARTIN BELL AWARD
We are very proud to share that Martin Bell's short film Prazinburk Ridge has just received the award for Best Animation at Wigan & Leigh Film Festival. Martin has been a guest on the Bigtooth Studios YouTube series and new podcast "The Process" twice, discussing in detail how he made his short film single-handedly inside Unreal Engine.
