OVERLAP ANIMATION SHOW AND TELL - DIGBETH, BIRMINGHAM

The Bigtooth team visited Overlap - Animation Show & Tell event, hosted at Nortons - Not another Irish Bar in Digbeth, Birmingham.

A quarterly animation show, run by Louis Hudson, award-winning Animator and Director from Birmingham. Our first time visiting the show, which is now in its second year, with one of those years being hosted virtually due to the pandemic.

The show kicked off at 8pm, showcasing the works of local talent. It included animations created in a variety of different mediums and software, including Blender, Premier Pro, Cinema 4D and Stop Motion. In a range of unique styles, with no two the same, each animation was an interpretation of the theme given to them by host Louis Hudson. This time the word "POMP" was the inspiration behind each piece.

BIGTOOTH'S FIRST NETLIX MOVIE

This month we landed our first Netflix feature film. We are really excited to be on board, creating both previs and postvis for a really great team of people and a fantastic Academy nominee writer and director.

THE NEW HQ

The Bigtooth Studios HQ is bigger, better and now with windows! (Not an OS pun...we promise!) May 2021 saw us scale up our office space for the third time in 3 years. We started out in 2018 in a pair of tiny box offices fitting only 2 desks each. It was enough to get Bigtooth Studios off the ground but boy did it get hot in there!

In February 2020 we moved into a bigger space which could fit six desks comfortably and we were just about able to squeeze in a sofa, TV and coffee table, which was used as our viewing area and of course the perfect place for us to get in a game (or two) of Streets of Rage over lunch.

Over lockdown Bigtooth Studios saw exciting company growth, which called for a bigger core team. With more projects coming through the door, than ever before, we wanted the additional space to allow more of our artists to be able to join us in-house! After all...nothing beats the excitement of a studio when there are deadlines looming! Here are some very tidy photos of it.
